Some people say that this is the biggest step internet community has been moved since the beginning 40 years ago. While lot of people will be positive on this decision, IT geeks (me included) are kind of skeptic about it.
This change could potentially open up the web to more people around the world as addresses could be in characters as diverse as Arabic, Korean, Japanese, Greek, Hindi and Cyrillic. But, again, there are numerous possibilities for phishing for example.. Also, does company need to buy domains on different non-latin addresses? Can i get гоогле.com?
Well, I don’t want to write to much about it, until they announce how they think to handle these situations. We are all hoping they took care about the obvious issues with phishing and branding and that life on internet wont become a nightmare.
